The Monthly MoAI Update - Sep '25

Welcome to the first ever edition of the MoAI newsletter! This will be the place where we put out monthly updates with regards to building, growing and maintaining MoAI. Since this is our first outreach, we would love to hear your feedback on what you would like to see in the newsletter. So feel free to respond with suggestions, feedback and/or questions! We would love to interact and improve our newsletter. With the formalities out of the way, maybe it is time to give a small refresher on what MoAI is about.

What is MoAI

MoAI is a knowledge management tool that centralizes your company's data and makes it searchable. It gives companies a living knowledge layer that connects all your scattered information. Why is centralizing company data important? Well, information is rapidly becoming more distributed. On average, people are using 11+ tools daily to perform their work, making it unnecessarily difficult to find anything. Think about all the times where you had to look up a document and try 6 different chats, drives and folders, just to find it in an old dusty mailbox that has not been opened in months.
A survey by Slite found that 30+ minutes is spent on looking up information daily. But it's not even just about searching. When key people leave, the knowledge map they had in their head disappears with them. Decisions get disconnected from their reasoning, and teams end up recreating work that already exists somewhere, simply because they don’t know about it.
That adds up to a lot of time wasted. We’re solving that.

MoAI lets you ask questions across all your tools at once. Instead of platform-hopping, you can just ask “What feedback did we get on the logo redesign?” and actually get an answer. Your data stays secure where it is, but now it's all connected and findable.
The result? Your teams stay aligned, and your institutional knowledge sticks around even when people don't.

MoAI?

(ˈməʊaɪ’) - noun. Plural: moai
“any of the gigantic carved stone figures found on Easter Island (Rapa Nui)”
The name MoAI is not accidental. Moai are ancient statues from Easter Island, that you might recognize from media or the 🗿 emoji. Real moai statues represented honored ancestors for the Rapa Nui people, serving as an embodiment of wise and powerful former chiefs. The symbolism is perfect, as we envision our product as a silent arbiter who has been watching over your projects and carries much wisdom in itself. Keeping out of the way, but always ready to advise when you need. An on-demand talking head, if you will. At the same time, the name MoAI stands for doing More with AI. Neat, right?

The team

We promise the world, but who are we? We are a team of two, Marijn and Gregor. Our journey started in 2018,when we met at the Computer Science and Engineering bachelor at the Technical University of Delft and instantly hit it off.. Our paths diverged in college, as we individually pursued opportunities in software engineering, music, and rocket science. Yet we found that our passion for technology and matching personalities always brought us back together.

The idea for MoAI has been in our minds since the start of 2024. We kept coming across the problem of scattered data sources, either from ourselves or from friends and colleagues We wondered why there wasn’t a sort of Google for company knowledge. Then finally, in the summer of 2024, we decided to take a leap of faith and just go build that solution ourselves.

Current state

We get that you are excited to try MoAI! While MoAI is currently in development, we're making significant progress toward our launch. We are currently working hard on our Most Viable Product (MVP) and we are scheduled to launch mid-Q4 ‘25. This MVP will serve as the first testing ground for the real world environment.
We’ve proven that the tech works with different prototypes, but nothing is more valuable than gaining hands-on experience.
We're still looking for more pilot customers to launch the first version of MoAI with! As an early adopter, you'd get to:

• Use the platform before anyone else
• Have real influence on how we develop new features
• Help shape MoAI based on what actually works for your team
